Nell’eterno conflitto tra opera ed artista, soprattutto quando i confini si confondono e risulta quanto mai difficile capire i limiti entro cui circoscrivere l’una e l’altro, ci troviamo di fronte ad opere complesse, difficili, elaborate. Il lavoro di Mauro non è mai banale o scontato, il messaggio è sempre ad enigma, i piani di racconto sono molteplici e consequenziali. Scoprire la loro chiave di lettura implica nello spettatore la decisione di intraprendere un viaggio: quello dell’esperienza dell’arte, vissuta per Iori sulla propria pelle, con sacrificio, con devozione, con amore, ma anche con rabbia e sudore, con momenti di sconforto e di negazione. E’ così che nascono i suoi lavori, da un impegno, un impegno nei confronti della pittura assunto suo malgrado e per natura, un impegno nei confronti di chi propone la mostra e di chi di conseguenza la visiterà. L’artista si attiene scrupolosamente al tema, non dipinge su commissione o a richiesta, ma accetta il suggerimento di un filone narrativo e ne approfitta per esplorare un argomento al punto di farlo proprio e di trasmettere messaggi suoi, personali, unici. Le opere di questo autore non possono essere trascurate o visitate velocemente, vanno guardate, osservate, studiate attentamente, si deve familiarizzare con ciascuna componente, farsela amica, far parlare tutti gli elementi del quadro, permettere a ciascuno di loro di raccontarci la sua storia. Ecco che solo dopo un attento esame è possibile carpire il racconto d’insieme ma anche conoscere ogni volta un po’ di più questo affascinante uomo ed artista che si annulla e si annienta per rivivere e risorgere proprio nelle sue opere. Mauro è completamente assorbito nelle fibre della tela e tra le trame dei colori, vive in ogni singola pennellata, si racconta attraverso ogni singola figura. Ogni volta celebra un inno alla vita, all’interiorità, alla mistica, alla religione, alla magia. Catapultati all’interno di un complicato labirinto, riusciremo a dipanare l’enigma solo se alle forze avverse del male e del dolore opporremo la ragione ed il sentimento. Sconfiggeremo il Minotauro grazie all’astuzia e all’amore. Arianna ci condurrà all’uscita dopo la vittoria del bene sul male per proiettarci verso una vita talmente inebriante da sembrare un sogno. Ipnotizzati dai fiori dell’oblio, grazie alla nostra rinnovata forza attraverseremo indenni le tentazioni dei demoni e solo allora raggiungeremo la redenzione.

In the eternal conflict between work and artist, above all when the boundaries melt and it becomes ever more difficult to understand the limits within which to circumscribe the one and the other, we find ourselves in front of complex works, difficult, elaborated. Mauro’s work is never trite or to be taken for granted, the message always a riddle, the levels of the story multiple and consequential. Discovering their key implies the decision in the onlooker to undertake a journey: that of the experience of art, lived by Iori on his own skin, with sacrifice, with devotion, with love, but also with rage and sweat, with moments of discomfort and self-denial. That is how his works are born, from a commitment, a commitment to painting made by his nature and against his will, a commitment to who proposes the exhibition and to who as a consequence will visit it. The artist keeps scrupulously to the theme, he doesn’t paint on commission or demand, but accepts the suggestions of a narrative thread and takes advantage of it to explore an argument to the point of making it his own and transmit his own messages, personal, unique. The works of this author can’t be neglected nor visited quickly, they have to be looked at, observed, studied attentively, one has to familiarize oneself with each component, make friends with them, let all the elements of the painting speak, allow each one of them to tell us his story. It is possible only after an attentive examination to understand the story of the whole but also to know this fascinating man and artist that annuls and annihilates himself and rises again in his works better every time. Mauro is totally absorbed in the fibers of the canvas and the plot of the colors, he lives in each single brushstroke, he tells himself through each single figure. Each time he celebrates a hymn on life, on inner being, on mysticism, on religion, on magic. Catapulted into the inside of a complicated labyrinth, we will succeed to unravel the riddle only if we will oppose the adverse powers of evil and pain with reason and feeling. We will beat the Minotaur thanks to cunning and love. Adrianna will lead us to the exit after the victory of good over evil to project us towards a life that is so exciting it will seem a dream. Hypnotized by the flowers of oblivion, thanks to our renewed strength we will pass unharmed through the temptations of demons and only then will we reach redemption.
