La presenza di una sedia vuota in un angolo, su un fondo che evoca più uno spazio contemplativo che un ambiente abitativo, porta un’ambiguità temporale che sembra rendere compresenti due dimensioni: il palcoscenico, dove si punta lo sguardo nell’attesa che qualcosa avvenga e, insieme, la scena del crimine, dove invece lo sguardo è puntato nel tentativo di ricostruire ciò che è già successo, di cercare gli indizi anche invisibili, di un’azione di fantasia, in pochi segni sparsi: la tipologia démodé della sedia; l’ombra proiettata, di un momento preciso nell’arco della giornata e indice di un tempo trascorso; i bagliori e i segni sullo sfondo, qualcosa che ancora suggerisce un passaggio già avvenuto oppure, anche, sul punto di ripetersi.

The presence of an empty chair in a corner, on a background that calls to mind an environment for contemplation rather than for living , has a temporal ambiguity that seems to make two dimensions co-present; the stage, to which the eye turns waiting for something to happen, and, at the same time, the scene of the crime, to which the eye is turned instead in an attempt to reconstruct that which has already happened, to look for clues, even invisible ones, for an act of fantasy, in a few dispersed signs: the outmoded typology of the chair, the projected shadow, for a precise moment in the span of a day indication of time that has passed; the flashes and the signs on the background, something that still suggests a passing that already occurred, or, also, ready to repeat itself.
