I lavori per questo progetto sono stati realizzati a quattro mani. Madre e figlia non a confronto ma in completa complicità hanno realizzato questo ed altri lavori. Gli interventi di ciascuna sono separati e riconoscibili. Edda lavora da molti anni nel mondo dell’arte, la sua è una pittura matura, frutto di grande applicazione ma anche conoscenza dei materiali con i quali lavora e si confronta quotidianamente. I suoi lavori sono realizzati ad acquerello su tavole di legno. Spesso i nodi del legno entrano a far parte delle sue composizioni in maniera naturale diventando essi stessi elementi pittorici. Edda predilige i ritratti, parte da foto pubblicitarie o da immagini di attori o attrici e trasferisce questi scatti in pittura. Sceglie pose intriganti, volti sobri e proporzionati, raffinati abbigliamenti o eleganti nudi e li nobilita ulteriormente attraverso il suo processo di messa in scena e pratica pittorica. Di queste raffinate pitture, Federica realizza foto in digitale che rielabora in un secondo momento con Photoshop. Partendo dall’idea del viaggio, le figure di Edda, sempre vagamente assorte o in contemplazione, in attesa o semplicemente in posa, vengono da Federica trasportate in una situazione dinamica. Le figure continuano in maniera perenne a vivere nell’opera in totale staticità ma il contesto che le ospita è ora in movimento. Il raddoppio dei contorni, la sfocatura che ne consegue e lo sfuggire delle linee verso un assorbimento dell’immagine ci presenta questi volti riflessi sul finestrino di un treno o di un’automobile in corsa. Non c’è una meta, né un reale programma di viaggio nelle intenzioni di Federica ma queste figure vivranno d’ora e per sempre semplicemente in un perpetuo andare.

The works for this project have been realized four-handed. Mother and daughter not in confrontation but in complete complicity have created this and other works. The interventions of each are separate and recognizable. Edda has worked in the art world for many years, hers is a mature painting, fruit of great dedication but also knowledge of the materials with which she works and confronts herself daily. Her works are realized in watercolors on wood. Often the knots in the wood enter to become a part of her compositions, in a natural way becoming themselves pictorial elements. Edda prefers portraits, part of publicity pictures or images of actors, and transfers these snapshots to painting. She chooses intriguing poses, sober and proportionate faces, refined clothing or elegant nudes and nobilitates them further through her process of “staging” and pictorial practice. Federica creates digital pictures of these refined paintings and elaborates them later with Photoshop. Starting with the idea of traveling, the figures of Edda, always vaguely absorbed or contemplating, waiting or simply posing, are transported by Federica into a dynamic situation. The figures continue in an eternal way to live in the work in total immobility but the context that houses them is now moving. The doubling of the contours, the fading that is the result of it and the escape of the lines till the image is absorbed presents us with these faces reflected in the window of a train or a racing car. There is no destination, nor a real itinerary in Federica’s intentions but these figures will live from now on and forever simply in a perpetual going on.
